A portrait is more than a mere snapshot in time. It is a reflection of the soul, an image of the inner beauty that each individual radiates, and that can only be captured with the right sensitivity and attention for detail.
My style is affected by the psychological complexity of the subject.
My ability to portray my sitters in a unique manner that truly mirrors their inner self makes the portrait a work of art that can be enjoyed and appreciated for generations.
Procedure
Once a commitment to the portrait is made after discussing the general expectations, I meet with the client, preferably at my studio, where I have a chance to show him representative samples of my work (both originals and photographs). We discuss a composition, pose, clothing and props, as well as the background that the painting will be set upon (and possible choice of custom frames).
We mutually agree upon a visual concept of the artwork that will be created. I then take a series of photographs as primary source material. Working from photographs and real life becomes a synthesis of gathered information.
We view the photographs together and draught a contract that details the contents of the artwork.
Every portrait presents a different set of challenges that have to be dealt with individually, as they arise.
I do my best to accommodate my clients’ needs, concerns and suggestions. I paint the portrait either from sittings, photograph(s), or a combination (it could be determined by creative concept, individual preference or simply availability of subject).
Upon completion and client approval the delivery arrangements will be made.
