Sally Chupick
 My aim in art is simple, it is to paint what moves me. In portraiture I reach for my response to the personality and mood that I perceive of my subject; often this is only a glimpse of a particular moment when the sitter shows me this side of themselves. I interpret the emotion of this moment and express it in paint. My brushstrokes have an energy and a personality of their own, which are quite gestural.
