Anastasiya Mykhaylova

Anastasiya is a photo and video artist based in London, originally from Ukraine. With a background in classical portraiture and the moving image, he uses her art to explore her past and evoke emotional responses.

Her work, rooted in her deep personal experiences, delves into themes of memory, loss and her Ukrainian heritage. She redefines the concept of a portrait, often exploring unconventional forms of representation, such as objects or spaces that embody emotion and personhood. Her work engages with the metaphysical and anthropomorphic aspects of emotion, offering a more abstract interpretation of identity and presence.

Anastasiya’s artistic practice spans a variety of mediums, including photography, visual art, and video installations.
