Wendy Irvine

Artist portrait Over the years I have painted my share of individuals in a traditional pose, wearing their favourite outfit, smiling or not smiling, facing the viewer and gazing resolutely into the future. I have always been fascinated, though, by those profound moments in a person’s life. Everyone has a story to tell, and many have those moments in time of fear, wonder, anxiety, contentment, and the list goes on. I love the experience of working in various mediums, represented here in some small way. I’ve had the good fortune to have lived in, or visited many parts of Canada and the United States, from Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Québec, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Florida, Washington State, Massachusetts, and many other places. The sights are always beautiful. The people are always the same, and different. I hope you enjoy the portraits as much as I enjoyed creating them.
